ISPN Welcomes PittEd International Graduate Students Back to Campus

On Sep 9th, the ISPN held their “Welcome Event” to kick off the fall semester of 2022-2023 with sponsorship from the IISE and SCS. International graduate students within the School of Education who are from different countries (Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, China, Egypt, etc.) attended and enjoyed a happy afternoon with their peers and faculty/staff from various departments. The event turned out to be a huge success!

Associate Director of IISE/Associate professor, Dr. Maureen Porter (EFOP), Assistant Dean for Student engagement, Dr. Andrea Zito, Admissions and Recruitment Manager, Sing Zhang (AES), and International Enrollment Service Manager, Ying-Tung Chou (Office of Admission and Financial Aid) welcomed new students joining the School of Education family and the returning students back with sincere encouragement, valuable information, and potential funding opportunities. The ISPN team shared the history, goals, and 2022-2023 academic year event plan of this student self-governance organization. Participants joined two engaging games – “Remember My Name” and “Blind Match” – to know each other, build friendships and have fun. Two students won prizes handed out by Dr. Zito.

Students and guests all left with cheerful smile, joyful belongingness, and some with full hands of snacks, fruits, and beverages. The next ISPN event, “Coffee Break & Reading Club” on September 23rd is eagerly looked forward to.
