  • IISE International Potluck Welcoming Reception of 2012

    IISE’s another successful international potluck welcoming reception was held at IISE lounge (W. Posvar Hall) on Tuesday, 4 September 2012. Faculty members, students and staff members from different backgrounds have colored the event with bringing diversity to the reception.

    IISE is pleased to announce a recent publication by Dr. Sean Kelly, entitled "Assessing Teacher Quality: Understanding Teacher Effects on Instruction and Achievement". Dr. Kelly is an Assistant Professor and IISE Senior Research Fellow at the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. The book was published on 2 December 2011 by Teachers College Press.

    On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, IISE held the IISE Awards Ceremony in the School of Education's Colloquium Room (5604 Wesley W. Posvar Hall) at the University of Pittsburgh. During the ceremony, the new Pittsburgh Studies in Comparative and International Education Book Series (PSCIE), and its inaugural volume Beyond the Comparative: Advancing Theory and Its Application to Practice were introduced. Members of the PSCIE International Advisory Board were also present.
