Professional Biography
Yongfeng Wang was recently a Chinese government-sponsored Visiting Scholar at the Institute for International Studies in Education at the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Open University of China in Beijing. His dissertation topic examined the topic of From "Constructive Learning" to "Students Effective Participation"—Study on the Proper Duties of Classroom Educational Technology. He is experienced in integrating information technology to curriculum in K12, and in teacher training for professional development in the information age. Wang has received several awards, among which are the Introduction to Data Communications (2007–2008) and Networking and the Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Nomination (2006–2007) awarded by North Eastern National University.
Research Interests & Current Projects
Wang's research focuses on educational technology. He has worked on several projects with the Ministry of Education in China. Recent among these projects is an experiment that studies leapfrogging development of K–12 in a digital environment. He is the leader of a sub-project in experimentation areas in the rural area of Shawan, Shilou, and Shiqiao in China. Another ongoing project he is participating in the National Teacher Educational Technology Literary Plan: Teacher Professional Development, which is also supported by the Ministry of Education in China. In this project, Wang works on training teachers. He is also currently the vice-leader of The study on Integrate Digital Resource into Curriculum to Innovate Higher Education Instructional Models, a key project of the Chinese higher education academy under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Education. As a teaching assistant at NENU, Wang undergraduate courses such as Modern Educational Technology, Educational Television System, Video Disc Technology in Teaching and Learning Environment, The Study for Distance Education, and an Introduction to Data Communications and Networking.
