Professional Biography
Keith J. Roberts is a Senior Research Fellow at IISE. Roberts has held multiple administrative positions at higher education institutions, including Vice President for Academics at Brigham Young University–Hawaii from January 2000 to April 2008. Under Dr. Roberts’ guidance, BYU–Hawaii established multiple culturally-sensitive articulation programs with universities in China, Mongolia, Thailand, Fiji, Samoa, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Tahiti. An expert in university accreditation, he has served as a Member and Vice Chair of several accrediting committees for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and has served on review panels for the WASC Commission. Roberts led and participated in college and university accreditation in both the North Central Association (NCA) and WASC. He has conducted workshops and presented papers at both the NCA and WASC. Recently, Roberts served as a Curriculum Development and Academic Review Specialist on an Asian Development Bank-funded project for "Preparing the Higher Education Sector Development" in Hanoi, Vietnam. Previous to his work at BYU–Hawaii he was Assistant to the President at Milwaukee Area Technical College where he was responsible for evaluating the instructional programs to assure that they were meeting the economic needs of the local economy.
Research Interests & Current Projects
Roberts’ research interests include the impact of religion on higher education in the United States and ethics and morality in higher education throughout the world. He is currently teaching the History of Higher Education in the United States in the Doctoral Program at Marquette University. He has presented at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, South China Normal University, Phranakhan Rajabhat University in Bangkok, and the State University of Surabaya in Indonesia. He is currently listed on the Fulbright Senior Specialist Roster.
