Professional Biography
Dr. Enrique Mu is chair of the Information Technology Management program in the School of Management at Carlow University in Pittsburgh. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh. He is also program co-director for the Programa de Capacitacion Gerencial (PROCAGE) summer training program for Latin American managers sponsored by the Institute of International Studies in Education (IISE), University of Pittsburgh. He was program director in the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh for more than ten years. Prior to joining the academia, he worked for Black Box Corporation, a US-based global data communication company, and was responsible for business operations in Latin America. He also worked as customer support vice president for Comlasa Ltd., a computing solution multinational firm (later bought by UPS) for the Latin American banking industry. As such, he participated in negotiating several multimillion-dollar banking automation deals in Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and Chile. He has lived in several different countries during his professional career. In addition to his activities in the United States he also regularly teaches and gives business presentations in Europe and Latin America. He is also a visiting faculty member in the European Business School in Germany during the summer.
Research Interests & Current Projects
Dr. Mu's areas of interest are the global management of technology – particularly in the Latin American Region, managerial decision making – more specifically using the Analytic Hierarchy Process, cognitive aspects of management (organizational mindfulness), and the assimilation of technology in organizations. His most recent professional presentations have been in McGill University, the XXII European Conference of Operations Research in the Czech Republic, and in the European Business School in Germany during 2007.
